Why Motor Yacht Exit Is Perfect for Your Next Luxury Yacht Charter in the Mediterranean
From the moment I arrived in Dubrovnik, the rest of Croatia’s coastline unfolded like a mesmerising story, with each bay revealing a new chapter of breathtaking scenery and adventure. This was all made possible for me by working as a crew member aboard a 90ft Sunseeker charter yacht: motor yacht Exit.

It’s surreal to walk on the limestone tiles of Dubrovnik’s Old Town – not just because I enjoyed Game of Thrones but because of the rich history that has smoothed its surface. It’s impressive to consider that despite being built in the 7th century, it stands strong, preserving its charm and hosts hundreds of local businesses – most of which, if I’m being honest, are gelaterias plotting your next sugar relapse.
This experience extends beyond just Dubrovnik, with numerous Old Towns in the other cities and islands, offering their own unique appeal. Mali Lošinj, Rab, Korčula and Stari Grad, despite being a verbal minefield, are places where some of my favourites can be found.
The streets are alive with tourists enjoying the diverse attractions this holiday destination offers: families exploring history, couples wanting a romantic escape, nautical enthusiasts craving adventure or young adults eager to share their yacht parties on social media.
Despite having as many as nine charters this last season, Osku, the captain of Exit, never failed to find more impressive locations along the coast. He would steer the yacht into secluded bays, tucked away from the hum of the world, where crystal-blue waters rested beneath a canopy of green. Adding to the magic, Exit is equipped with a variety of epic water toys guaranteed to awaken anyone’s inner child.
One of the most incredible moments was flying around a bay on an e-Foil within the National Park of Mljet – a surreal sensation of gliding effortlessly over waters as smooth as glass. Other national nature parks worth a visit (and another linguistic warm-up) include Krka, Kopački Rit, Plitvice Lakes and Kornati.

With more than half its territory encompassed by the Adriatic Sea, Croatian cuisine is largely seafood-based with menus often reflecting the same dishes along the coast. Popular choices include octopus salad, tuna tartare, grilled seabass, mixed seafood pasta and lamb chops.
Croatia also boasts a few fantastic Michelin-starred restaurants, and I had the privilege of dining at Restaurant 360º in Dubrovnik’s Old Town. This meal was a masterclass of seven exquisitely crafted courses paired with six local wines and complemented by impeccable service – all whilst sitting secluded on the city wall overlooking the Dubrovnik port.
Yet my favourite meals were created onboard by our very own talented chef of the season, Shannon Bruce, who wowed the crew and our guests with her extraordinary culinary skills and artistic flair. Shannon played with flavours from all around the world: exotic Thai dishes, authentic Mexican fare, succulent steaks, impressive sushi displays, magnificent cheese boards and freshly-baked sourdough – all presented on a beautifully decorated table in a Mediterranean setting.
Of course, there are still many other aspects of Croatia I have yet to enjoy firsthand but have vicariously experienced through the words of our guests. Some charter clients spoke highly of two wineries – Bire and Pošip Čara – which offer impressive wine-tasing experiences in Korčula and are producers of the legendary grapes GRK and Pošip, respectively. Another group with young adults raved about Carpe Diem – a vibrant beach club in Hvar that transforms into a nightclub as the sun sets.
Capturing the essence of Croatia through words and a series of HD photos alone does not do it justice which is why I highly recommend seeing it yourself. Whether you choose to cruise in luxury with us on motor yacht Exit or explore the coastline on a catamaran, be sure to soak up everything that Croatia has to offer.
