Jere Salmi
Hello!! I’m Jere Salmi and at The Lux I keep the yachts in mint condition both at the dock and at the pier. During the charters I work as a deckhand. I ended up at Lux because of my love for the sea.
The sea and boating have always been present in my life. My first boating experiences were with my brother when I was about 3-4 years old, when we built a raft out of a small bathtub to pull along a field river, that boat didn’t float for very long and it was probably because several hundreds of nails had been hammered into it here and there. Nowadays, I’m a bit more moderate when it comes to nails, and my boat building skills have improved after attending a boat building school. Boating and making things with my hands bring me freedom, joy and the feeling of living in the moment.
My strengths are carefulness and attentiveness. I always strive for perfection in everything I do and always try to find the best possible way to accomplish different things. I also get along well with everyone and I always try to create a positive atmosphere around me.
Sailing is my passion, I enjoy the silence when the wind blows in the sails and the freedom to travel by nature’s own power with only the world as a limit. Outside of boating and work, I lead a very active life. I enjoy climbing and I like to go hiking.
