Simo Konttinen
I am Simo Konttinen and the founding partner, captain and responsible for operations in Finland of The Lux Yachts Oy.
Water has always been one of my favorite elements since childhood. As a child, a small outboard motor boat was towed with some kind of equipments behind, and through this, an interest in bigger boats was born. Over the years, the size of the boats has increased and three years ago my cousin and I started renovating the first yacht for our use. Now I am already working on yachts in Helsinki for the 5th season. At first I was a deckhand and now a captain.
I am a firefighter by my other profession and I consider safety a really important part of our operations. Taking care of safety is one of my strengths as a captain and I make sure that the equipment of our yachts is at an adequate level.
I spend my free time playing sports, in the summer of course boating and in cottages and with friends. Sauna is also one of my favorite things and what could be better than spending the summer in the archipelago cruising, sauna or swimming.
